A law firm is seeking a Risk and Compliance Attorney for its office. This non-practicing attorney role reports to the Director of Risk Management and supports client engagement and new business intake, conflicts analysis and resolution, conflict waiver drafting, review and negotiation of client agreements, data privacy and information governance efforts, audit letter response, ethical screening, and litigation holds.

The role oversees institutional review of outside counsel guidelines and engagement letters, manages negotiation strategies with attorneys across departments, and ensures complete recordkeeping of client agreements. It also supports business development submissions, reviews vendor contracts for compliance issues, conducts risk assessments, and develops training on compliance and risk topics. The position includes supervisory responsibilities such as recruiting, performance feedback, and mentoring of department staff.

Candidates must hold a Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school and be an active member in good standing of at least one U.S. state bar (DC bar membership preferred), with five or more years of legal experience in a law firm or professional services setting focused on compliance, conflicts, and operational support. On-site presence is required, with remote work available per the firm’s flexible work policy.

The base salary range is $180,000–$205,000 annually.
