A leading law firm is seeking a mid-level associate for its Intellectual Property & Technology practice in its New York office. The role calls for 35 years of experience handling sophisticated trademark, copyright, unfair competition, and brand enforcement matters, including litigation and counseling work for prominent domestic and international clients.
The firm’s trademark practice covers trademark and design protection, unfair competition, infringement, and brand enforcement, including anti-counterfeiting and grey market matters, and litigation before federal courts and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB). The associate will manage and support trademark, copyright, false advertising, and unfair competition litigation; conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery materials; advise clients on trademark clearance, prosecution, and enforcement strategy; handle counterfeiting and infringement disputes; and collaborate with partners on complex domestic and international brand protection matters.
Candidates should have 35 years of relevant trademark and copyright experience at a law firm or comparable setting, strong litigation and counseling experience, TTAB/USPTO/Copyright Office experience preferred, excellent writing and analytical skills, strong academic credentials, and New York Bar admission or eligibility to waive in. Estimated salary range between $270-385k.
