A leading U.S. law firm is seeking a Life Sciences Patent Prosecution Patent Agent, open to candidates in any of its offices, preferably Philadelphia. The role is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with an advanced degree and strong background in biological sciences to work on sophisticated patent matters for clients ranging from Fortune 50 companies to innovative start-ups.

The patent agent will prepare, file, and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications in the life sciences sector, advise clients on patent issues across the product lifecycle (including strategy, portfolio management, and enforcement), and collaborate with clients, colleagues, the USPTO, and foreign associates on domestic and international prosecution matters.

Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience as a patent agent in biotechnology, an advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in a biological science such as molecular biology, cell biology, microbiology, immunology, or genetics, and experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications relating to biologics or other large-molecule technologies. USPTO registration in good standing is required, and prior law firm experience is preferred. The salary range is $120,000 to $230,000 based on experience, plus bonus opportunities. Locations include Washington, DC; New York, NY; Philadelphia, PA; and Chicago, IL.
