Lateral Conflicts Analyst

A leading global law firm is seeking a Lateral Conflicts Analyst for its New York or San Francisco office. This role produces, reviews, and analyzes conflict of interest reports and supports onboarding for all incoming attorneys and paralegals, ensuring strong client service throughout.

The analyst coordinates full conflicts checks for overseas paralegal and staff hires alongside resolution attorneys and staff recruiting, generating and reviewing conflict reports through the firm’s software, protocols, and AI-assisted research tools. Responsibilities include factual research into matter status, entity roles, and corporate affiliate relationships using commercial databases; maintaining corporate family trees; independently preparing lateral conflict memoranda; and summarizing findings for attorney review. The role also coordinates Director/Officer form approvals with the Office of General Counsel, responds to hotline inquiries, prepares business development reports, and maintains ethical walls in line with firm policy.

Candidates should have at least one year of conflicts or legal assistant experience (or comparable law firm experience in a decision-making role), strong communication and analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with discretion.

New York, San Francisco salary range: $70,000–$99,000.
