General Liability / Insurance Defense Litigation Associate

A Texas-based civil litigation firm is seeking General Liability / Insurance Defense Litigation Associates to join its growing practice in Houston, Dallas, Austin, or San Antonio. Attorneys will manage a high-volume caseload involving automobile liability, premises liability, personal injury defense, general casualty, and other insurance defense matters. Responsibilities include handling cases from assignment through resolution, drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and client reports, conducting legal research, preparing clients and witnesses for depositions, attending hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials, coordinating with medical experts, developing litigation strategies, negotiating settlements, and maintaining regular communication with clients and supervising attorneys.

Candidates must be licensed and in good standing with the Texas Bar (or awaiting bar results for entry-level candidates). The firm welcomes new attorneys (0–2 years) seeking mentorship as well as attorneys with 3–8+ years of insurance defense, general liability, personal injury defense, or related civil litigation experience. Strong writing, analytical, organizational, and communication skills are required, along with the ability to manage deadlines and client expectations. Experience in Texas state or federal courts is preferred for experienced candidates, and willingness to travel throughout Texas is required.

Salary: $120,000–$140,000+ for junior attorneys and $175,000–$225,000 for mid-level attorneys, plus billable-hour bonuses. The firm also offers unlimited PTO, comprehensive benefits, paid parking, mentorship, and a hybrid work schedule after an initial six-month in-office training period.
