A leading UK-based legal services firm is seeking a Forensics Consultant to join its eDiscovery and Technical Teams. Working under the direction of the Director of Forensics, this role supports evidence management, collections, and forensic analysis across collection and data-analysis projects from inception to completion including project scoping, forensically sound collections, data identification, forensic analysis, reporting and testimony as needed, and coordination of data handoffs to internal processing teams.
Key responsibilities include collaborating with eDiscovery and Technical Services teams on ESI collection and analysis, generating unbiased findings and expert reports, managing evidence documentation and chain-of-custody, maintaining detailed project notes, validating incoming evidence files, and producing mobile device reporting for phones and tablets. The role also involves executing sound forensic lab methodologies and occasional onsite travel.
Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience/certifications), plus 2+ years of experience in digital forensics or IT, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently and cross-functionally. Preferred qualifications include eDiscovery/forensics certifications (EnCE, CCE, ACEDS, etc.), experience with tools like EnCase, FTK, Axiom, X-Ways, and Cellebrite, and cloud/Windows/Mac/Linux experience.
Salary range: £55K – £75K.
