A leading law firm is seeking an AI Legal Engineer, based at its global operations center in Tampa, FL, or at one of its offices across the country.

This role partners with subject matter experts to design, build, and operationalize AI-enabled workflows solving concrete problems for the firm’s practice groups, while equipping attorneys to build and govern their own workflows over time. Responsibilities include developing prompt design, retrieval pipelines, and document templates for use cases like contract review, due diligence, and research; building evaluation frameworks to measure workflow accuracy and reliability; and serving as a go-to resource for training, enablement, and change management. The Engineer will embed human-review checkpoints aligned with firm governance and professional responsibility requirements, and collaborate closely with the firm’s AI Product, AI Adoption, Knowledge & Innovation, and IT teams.

Candidates should hold a J.D. or equivalent legal background, with 3–6+ years of experience in legal technology, knowledge management, or practice innovation, and demonstrated experience designing AI or automation solutions in a legal or professional-services context. Preferred qualifications include prior AmLaw firm or legal tech company experience and hands-on work with RAG pipelines and AI evaluation methods.

Pay ranges vary by location, from $136,000 to $245,000 annually, plus bonus opportunities and a full benefits package.
