Construction Defect Litigation Associate

A Texas-based civil litigation firm is seeking Construction Defect Litigation Associates to join its growing Construction Litigation Practice in Houston, Dallas, Austin, or San Antonio. Attorneys will manage an active caseload of approximately 25+ construction defect, insurance defense, and commercial litigation matters, representing developers, contractors, subcontractors, property owners, insurers, and commercial clients. Responsibilities include handling all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, trial preparation, legal research, client reporting, settlement negotiations, and developing litigation strategy with senior attorneys. The role also involves working closely with engineers, architects, contractors, and other experts, attending inspections and court proceedings throughout Texas, and supervising legal support staff as needed.

Candidates must be licensed and in good standing with the Texas Bar and have 3–8+ years of litigation experience, preferably in construction defect, insurance defense, commercial litigation, or similar civil litigation matters. Experience independently managing a caseload, taking and defending depositions, practicing in Texas state and federal courts, and strong analytical, writing, and case management skills are required. Willingness to travel throughout Texas is expected.

The firm offers a competitive compensation package, including base salaries of approximately $175,000–$225,000 for associates, $250,000–$275,000+ for Of Counsel (depending on experience), plus billable-hour bonuses.
