An Am Law 200 firm with offices in Walnut Creek, Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Rafael, Sacramento, San Diego, and Fresno is seeking a Director of Recruiting to lead a comprehensive, firm-wide talent acquisition strategy across attorneys and professional staff. This senior, high-visibility role partners directly with firm leadership to shape how the firm identifies, attracts, and retains talent, with deep expertise in the legal talent market and lateral partner dynamics.

Key responsibilities span strategic recruiting leadership, attorney and lateral partner recruitment, professional staff hiring, and team management. The Director leads the firm’s Lateral Partner Recruiting Committee, manages relationships with search firms, and drives DEI recruitment initiatives in alignment with standards like the Mansfield Rule. The role also oversees recruitment data analysis, employer branding, and the recruiting budget.

Candidates should bring 8+ years of recruiting experience—ideally within professional services or a law firm—along with 5+ years of management experience. A bachelor’s degree is required (JD or advanced degree a plus), along with proven experience building strategic talent acquisition plans, strong analytical skills, and a demonstrated commitment to DEI. The salary range for this role is $275,000+.
